About the Driftwood Heritage Festival

Hosted in 2022, the first Annual Driftwood Heritage Festival celebrated the work of the DHCS, the Hays County Historical Commission, and Vista Brewing to create the William B. Travis Historical Marker. In its second and third years, the festival drew nearly 1,000 attendees from Driftwood and the surrounding areas for a free, family-friendly event created to bolster a sense of community and belonging.

This year attendees can enjoy live music throughout the day, while shopping hyper-local artisans and enjoying Vista’s delicious food and drinks. They will have opportunities to explore Driftwood’s rich history and exciting future, and learn about community efforts addressing sustainability, conservation, light pollution, agriculture, and more.

Live Music Lineup

12:15 PM to 1:20 PM  - Tiger Alley
Katy Rose Cox and Sophia Johnson have both already had long careers in the music industry, performing in other peoples’ bands for many years. Both are extremely experienced instrumentalists, used to playing supporting roles to other people. And they have another thing in common – both were also accustomed to being the only girl in the band, roughing it as “one of the boys”, and doing the grunt work of a band member without the glitz and glamor of the spotlight. Tiger Alley, their joint project, sees them step outside of their roles as sidewomen to front their own band, developing their unique sound as singers and songwriters, and bringing their musical skills to fruition under their own names.

2:10 PM  to 3:20 PM - Billy Garza and the Amazing Robek
Award winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, power vocalist and bandleader, Billy Garza teams with the Amazing Robek to bring his original songs to life. Influenced by the likes of John Prine and Alejandro Escovedo, Garza continues to perform as he has for the last twenty years in the shadows of his mentors. Based in Dripping Springs, Texas, Garza performs throughout the Texas Hill Country.

4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - Sour Bridges
Formed in 2010, the genesis of Sour Bridges actually starts in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania.  That’s where Long Island-born Pucci and his brother, Matt (lead guitar, mandolin, vocals), were raised and taught themselves to play music.  After moving to Austin in 2007, they immediately found a community of like-minded talents eventually leading to their current incarnation which includes Will Vaughan on bass and vocals and Marc Randal Henry on drums and percussion.

Sponsorship

Your sponsorship will help create a wonderful event celebrating all things Driftwood and specifically support immediate improvements to the Driftwood Community Center. These improvements include the addition of a fire door, roof repairs to the garage, and upgraded water and septic systems.

We see the community center as a vibrant hub for Driftwood. A place where neighbors become friends, and residents and visitors gather for family, social, and professional events. We are dedicated to revitalizing and enhancing the capacity and appeal of the community center. Our goal for 2025 is $50,000 towards our building fund. We hope that you will join us at a level that aligns with your passion for Driftwood and the mission of the Driftwood Historical Conservation Society. Please contact festival@driftwoodhcs.org for more information about sponsorship opportunities!
